Originally spun from independent energy research specialist John S. Herold Inc., Triple Double Advisors began operating independently in 2007 when Arthur L. Smith, CFA divested John S. Herold, Inc. to IHS Inc. While leading John S. Herold Inc., Mr. Smith built the Company into one of the premier providers of independent research focused on the petroleum sector.

Our research is independent, objective, and unbiased. The consulting practice at Triple Double Advisors centers on the key inputs that drive valuation, strategy, and performance of energy firms. Triple Double Advisors benefits from the services of a diverse team of highly-experienced energy professionals who work with us as associates. Our principal has served as a Director on the boards of an extensive array of energy companies in audit, compensation, and governance. He is a Fellow in the National Association of Corporate Directors. His board service since 1990 includes: large independent E&P organizations, oil pipeline and storage MLPs, and domestic Oilfield Services organizations.
